Description of Bone Densitometry
Bone Densitometry, also known as Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA), uses low-dose X-rays to assess the bone mineral density and identify bone loss and osteoporosis. The higher the bone mineral content, the stronger your bones are. People with low bone density are at an increased risk of fracture.
