Description of Ultrasound Services
Ultrasound is a non-invasive imaging technique that uses a transducer (ultrasound probe) to emit and receive high-frequency sound waves through organs. These waves are used to produce detailed, real-time images of the body. A layer of warm gel is applied to the skin surface at the region of interest to facilitate sound transmission. Ultrasound does not involve any radiation and is known for its safety and absence of harmful effects.

Ultrasound Examination Process
During the examination, our sonographer may ask you to change into a gown and lie on the bed. The sonographer will apply a layer of warm gel to the skin surface at the region of interest to facilitate sound transmission. The probe will be placed onto your skin during the examination, and images will be taken. Most examinations take 20-30 minutes, but some may require longer.
Doppler examinations are a subtype of ultrasound that uses sound waves to detect and assess blood flow within arteries or veins. This can help in identifying narrowing, occlusion, or clot formation. During the procedure, you may hear noises produced by the machine as signals coming back from moving blood flow are converted into sounds.
Side Effects
Ultrasound does not involve radiation. It is safe and has no known harmful effects.
